CURRICULUM VITAE

ALEX ECKERT was born nine months after the 2nd World War’s end at the place where the boundaries of Switzerland, Germany and France gather together: on the knee of the river Rhine in the city of chemical industry, carnival, art crafts and humanism: Basle. His first mental and artistic training he got there. His years of study he passed in a Swiss-French high school and in a college in central Switzerland, where he graduated in pedagogies, foreign languages, fine arts and music. After three years as a primary school teacher, he studied at the Conservatory in Basel percussion and conducting. At the same time he opened his polyaesthetic art school, which he presided later as a foundation. His thirst for knowledge and culture let him never be remote of study centers, so he accomplished his skill and artistic training in Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Denmark, Luxembourg, England and Poland, where he lectured after in courses as a guest instructor. In Poland, the crib of Chopin, Roman Polanski, Pope Woityla, Lech Walesa and something like a typical anti-Russian communism he began an intensive cultural and fruit-bearing exchange practicing all kinds of arts like corporal expression, theater, literature, opera, directing, conducting, painting and teaching. The Polish government honored him with several awards and prizes for his polyaesthetic work. Concerts, operas, musicals and exhibitions of his artistic work took place in Switzerland, Germany, Portugal, Benelux, Poland and Brazil. Nowadays the artist lives in Brazil. Several years ago his passion for this country of archaic nature and miscellaneous culture has grown up, and so he decided to be a freelance artist for good. Brazil’s impressions fructify his artistic work and besides his Brazilian muse he creates new and amazing sounds, spaces and landscapes. His artistic, musical and literal creations are visions of a sensitive, lovesick, unfaithful, troubled, shaken, tenderness-hungry, crazy, mysterious, amazing, violent, peace-seeking, perverse, holy and passionate world that should – at the bottom – only seek for the most important treasure: the vital power of LOVE.
